I brought my 2019 Ram ProMaster 2500 in for a clicking noise behind the dash. Diagnosis: stripped gear on the front-left blend door actuator. Then came the unbelievable quotes:   Initial quote: $4,088 ($3,588 labor for 3 actuators)   Second quote: ~$2,700 after questioning the hours. Third quote: $1,907.21 (still insisting the entire dashboard must come out to replace all 3)   The advisor insisted a full dashboard teardown was mandatory. However, on this vehicle, the front-left actuator is located right above the footwell/pedal area and can be accessed from underneath without removing the dash carrier. I declined, paid the $159 diagnostic fee, and went to another shop. They replaced the single broken front-left actuator from below in under 2 hours. Total cost: $375.01—saving me over $3,700 from their first quote!   Check your estimates carefully.
